Goldingale kennels is situated in north Worcestershire and within a short walking distance to two country parks, the Wasley Hills and the Lickey Hills, a third, the Clent Hills a few minuets drive away, ideal canine territory.
Flatcoats came into our lives in 1989 with the purchase of two puppies from the
well known Shargleam kennel owned by the late Miss Pat Chapman.
We got to know 'Pat' during our golden retriever years in the show ring, 1970
saw our first golden 'RUSTY' who at the time was just a pet, but as time went by
we decided to do more in the dog world and started showing. Along came two more
goldens one for show and one for obedience, then more goldens, show, obedience
and agility were the norm.
Our first flatcoats 'GRACE' and 'PORTIA' were readily accepted by the goldens,
and they were very interested in these 'black things'.
Showing success followed, PORTIA gaining a 1st in minor puppy at her first
Championship show and GRACE a v.h.c.
GRACE gained her first c.c. and b.o.b. at the National gundog championship show
in 1991 many reserve c.c followed.
She became a full champion 1994, during this period GRACE enjoyed herself
working to the gun, as indeed all our flatcoats are trained for this.
GRACE produced a litter of 9 in 1992 from this we kept 2 dogs BLAKE and LAUREL
plus 1 bitch ROSE .
ROSE followed her mum's success in the show ring and became a full champion at
the age of three.
